Five very unlikely and troubled friends always thought that they knew everything about one another. They always knew that Carlos did drugs and that for some odd reason Raj had been sick for two years after hooking up with a girl from out of town. However, they couldn’t have seen what was coming next… When things get really bad with Raj, Carlos freaks out and when Abbie can’t keep holding herself together while trying to hold her friends together too, things will turn to be even worse. When Davina starts making up too many excuses for Carlos, and Abbie just gets tired of hearing it, this will cause her to go to Juan and something unexpected will happen. What happens will leave Abbie completely dumbstruck. What’s wrong with Raj?  What exactly is Carlos on, and why does Davina have to make up excuses for him? Can Abbie stay together enough to not let her friends slip away? What’s going on with Juan and Abbie??  All the answers and answers to questions you haven’t even asked yet are inside this book.

This book is officially this reviewer’s favorite book. Anyone would give this book at least four heart if they had a heart. This reader found herself literally bawling twice while reading the book. This book was given five hearts because not only is this book entertaining but it gives you the cold hard facts, it shows you the real drama that goes on when someone in your circle of friends is on drugs. It also tells you things about AIDS and HIV in manners that the ordinary “this is what will happen, don’t have unsafe sex” speech you get in school could not even begin to compare with. This reviewer gives this story two weeks after being released before it gets some kind of award.  All teenagers should read this book; it shows what can happen if you have unprotected sex or start abusing substances. This reviewer would describe this book as a big slap of reality to anyone who reads it. Of course, the slap of reality could save someone’s life one day. Any school that doesn’t put this in their library is foolish because if even half of the young adults in America read this book they would definitely think twice before abusing a drug or having unsafe sex. While this book is a little risqué, it isn’t risqué enough to matter if by reading the book you could be saving not only your own life but many others lives, too.  There are not words to describe how good this book is, this reviewer strongly encourages EVERYONE to go and read this book.
